In this photography project I have sought to document the rush of contemporary society through focusing on one form of technological communication and tracing its qualities and adaptations through time.

I chose to focus on the telephone kiosk as it is a physical object that represents an in-between stage. Despite the fact that its original purpose has been rendered obsolete by the swarm of new technology, they have not yet been knocked down and therefore stand to serve new purposes relevant for the new needs varied audiences of the current capital.

In this project I have not only shown how the telephone kiosk has been repurposed to strengthen and to promote trust in the local community through the children's mini library, but I have also included examples of how the 'British icon' has been romanticised through tourist shops as small models of the kiosk are being sold as souvenirs.

I then further developed this project through using multi-media.
